BME offers undergraduate students the chance to participate in internships in the lab or company and receive academic credit.
Capstone Project program at UNIST BME is an intensive, and hands-on program that places students in a simulated incubator environment, solving problems in biomedical area with faculty guidance and professional mentorship. Capstone Project course is required of all senior BME students at UNIST. It enables BME students to tackle today’s challenges, design real-world solutions in a team, build them, and test prototypes. At the end of the year, students present their efforts and get a chance to commercialize their innovation with support of R&D Center at UNIST. Through the Capstone project, more than ten outcomes have been patented and two start-up companies were built successfully for the last six years.
