뇌-컴퓨터 인터페이스 연구실은 뇌신경활동을 측정하여 뇌신호로부터 운동, 의사, 언어, 정서 등 다양한 의도를 해독하고 이를 이용해 외부기기를 제어하거나 의사소통을 가능하게 하는 시스템을 개발한다. 또한, 자연 뇌신경망의 정보처리 원리를 이해하여 이를 응용한 새로운 인공지능 모형을 제시하거나 로봇 지능을 개발하는 연구도 수행한다. 뇌-컴퓨터 인터페이스 원천기술을 토대로 재활 등 메디컬 분야뿐만 아니라 일반인을 위한 폭넓은 응용 기술을 개발하고 미래 뇌산업의 기틀을 제공하고자 한다.
